The eye clinic, Clinic A, is located on the first floor in the main building of the new hospital.

-Flying into O'Hare International Airport:

Go down to the lower level and follow signs to "CTA Trains". Take the Blue Line Forest Park train to the Medical Center Station (ETA 45 minutes). See directions below from Medical Center Station. Click here for a CTA map.

-Flying into Midway Airport:

Take the elevated walkway from the airport to the train station. The train station is located one block from Midway Airport. Take the Orange Line Midway Airport train north to Downtown Clark/Lake exit (the location of the State of Illinois Building). Get off at the Downtown Clark/Lake exit, and follow signs to lower level subway (Dearborn St. Subway). Take the O'Hare Forest Park train west to the Medical Center station. -From the Medical Center Station:

Take the stairs up and turn left onto Ogden Ave. Walk two blocks to the intersection of Ogden and Harrison and look for the signs to the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Enter through the subspecialty clinics entrance and proceed to Clinic A.

B. DRIVING DIRECTIONS

-From the North:

Take the Kennedy I-90 expressway or the Edens I-94 expressway south to the Eisenhower I-290 expressway. Take Eisenhower west to Damen Ave exit (3rd exit). Exit at Damen Ave and turn left (south) back across the expressway. Tun left on Polk Street and go 2 blocks to the CCH parking structure on the left. Proceed to Clinic A in the main hospital.

-From the South and Southwest:

Take the Stevenson I-55 or Kennedy I-90 into Chicago to the Eisenhower I-290 expressway. Take Eisenhower (I-290) west to Damen Avenue (3rd exit). Exit at Damen and turn left (south) back over the expressway to Polk Street. Turn left on Polk Street and go 2 blocks to the CCH parking structure on the left. Proceed to Clinic A in the main hospital.

-From the West:

Take I-290 (Eisenhower expressway) in to Chicago. Exit at Damen Avenue. At Damen Avenue, turn right onto Polk Street. Once on Polk Street, turn left after 2 blocks to the CCH parking structure on the left. Proceed to Clinic A in the main hospital.

C. HOTEL AND ACCOMODATIONS

-The Marriott at Medical District/UIC (approximately 4 blocks east of John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County) offers a convenient location for applicants. Please call the hotel at 312-491-1234 and ask for current rates for resident applicants.
